SwiftSlip ("we", "our", or "the app") is a Shopify app that helps merchants generate and print packing slips, shipping labels, and invoices. This policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect data when you use our app.
We access the following data from your store via the Shopify Admin API when you use the app or an Admin Action (e.g. "Print with SwiftSlip" from Orders or Products):
We use this data solely to generate and print shipping labels, packing slips, and invoices at your request. We do not use it for marketing, advertising, or any purpose other than providing these features.
Data is retrieved via the Shopify API (REST and GraphQL) only when you open the app or use an Admin Action (e.g. from the Orders or Products page). We do not continuously sync or scrape your store data.
We store order and usage metadata (e.g. template usage, generation counts, access logs) for up to 30 days to provide usage analytics, comply with audit requirements, and improve the app. After that period, this metadata is purged. Template and settings data (e.g. your logo URL, business name, layout preferences) is stored for as long as the app is installed so we can generate your slips and labels. We do not persist customer names, addresses, or phone numbers — order data is fetched on-demand from Shopify when generating documents.
Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. Stored data is held in secure databases (backed by Prisma and a managed database provider). We utilize industry-standard cloud infrastructure providers (such as Shopify's hosting and managed database services) to store and process your data. We do not sell or share your or your customers’ data with third parties for their marketing or other purposes.
We comply with Shopify’s mandatory compliance webhooks so that you and your customers can exercise their data rights:
When a customer asks for a copy of their data, Shopify sends us a webhook. We do not persist customer data (names, addresses, phone numbers); order and shipping data are fetched on-demand from Shopify when generating documents and are not stored. We therefore have no customer data to provide in response to this webhook. Our access logs record only shop, resource type (e.g. order), and order identifiers — not personal data — for audit purposes.
When a customer requests deletion of their data, Shopify sends us a webhook. We do not persist customer data; order and shipping data are fetched on-demand and not stored. There is therefore no customer data to redact. Our access logs do not contain customer names, addresses, or other PII.
When you uninstall the app, Shopify sends us a "shop redact" webhook (typically within 48 hours). We then delete all data associated with your shop, including templates, settings, usage logs, access logs, and sessions. No copy of your shop’s data is retained after this process.
We implement a data loss prevention strategy that includes: (1) minimal data retention — we do not persist customer names, addresses, or phone numbers; (2) on-demand access only — order data is fetched from Shopify only when generating documents; (3) encrypted storage and transport (HTTPS, encrypted databases); (4) automatic purging of usage and access logs after 30 days; and (5) immediate deletion of all shop data upon uninstall via the shop redact webhook.
We maintain an access log for protected customer data. When order data (which includes names, addresses, and phone numbers) is accessed for document generation, we record the shop, resource type (order), order identifiers, and context (e.g. packing slip, invoice, order list). This log does not contain customer names, addresses, or other personal data. Logs are retained for up to 30 days for audit purposes and then purged.
We monitor our systems for security issues and respond to confirmed incidents promptly. If a security incident affects your data, we will assess its scope, contain the impact, and notify affected merchants as required by applicable law.
